Keuka College student rings NASDAQ opening bell

Keuka College boasts one of the top five performers in the Fall 2018 ETF Global Portfolio Challenge

Ha “Belle” Nguyen ’20 created a portfolio that generated a return on investment of more than 21% — an especially impressive result considering the market itself fell by 5% during this period.

Ha bested more than 1,000 other students from 253 other schools around the world as part of the Ho Chi Minh City University partnership program with Keuka College.

To celebrate her performance, Ha was flown to New York City to ring the opening bell on the NASDAQ stock exchange. She also received a prestigious award and gave a speech to hundreds of Wall Street industry executives at the Spring 2019 ETP Conference.

This is not Keuka College’s first appearance on the floor of the NASDAQ exchange. College students Michaela Martin ’18, Luke Labuski ’19, Patrick Giardino ’18, and Hunter Waddington ’20 rang the NASDAQ opening bell last December as part of their reward for strong performances in the Spring 2018 ETF Global Portfolio Challenge.
