Summary
The person is required immediately to enable our software team to continue to support existing applications. The existing software engineer team will help and guide you with the process of learning the development environment and the application structure. You will be tasked with updating, maintaining and developing new components to the exiting application and testing these changes.
Job decription
The job will enable the successful candidate to:
- Responsible for server and client side web-application development on Java platforms.
- Participate in the design, development and refinement of new and established native apps
- Supporting the software team on a variety of existing and future app development opportunities.
- Work within the team to continuously improve and refine the skills and capabilities of the team to remain abreast of current software development tools and techniques.
Essential skills
- Experience with Java, Spring Framework, Spring Cloud
- Experience in Web-Development/RESTful
- Knowledge of JPA, Hibernate, Relational Database
- Interest in Microservices development
- Some experience of software development
- Good grades in university programming papers
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic about programming
- Self-motivated learner
- Effective communication skills, able to work with the team in a professional manner
- A pro-active attitude that is likely to win the respect of colleagues
- Motivated team player
- Organised and conscientious.
Desirable Skills
- Some experience of Android or iOS development including app deployment
- Some experience with Linux and Windows OS
- Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
