Sparx* is working with leading entertainment and technology companies around the world including Disney, Exodus, France3, Industrial Light and Magic, Lucasfilm Animation, Nelvana, Square Enix, TF1, Warner Bros. Founded in 1995, Sparx* became known for high quality visual effects, quickly building a portfolio of over 1,000 TV commercials that have aired on five continents. The company is most well-known for co-producing Rolie Polie Olie with Nelvana and Disney Channel and producing the fully computer-animated movie IGOR. With the release of IGOR, Sparx* became the only studio in Vietnam to have released a Hollywood 3D feature film. Igor involved a team of 250 artists who created 1437 shots using 70 environments and 125 characters. Sparx* has been acquired by Virtuos in 2011, which is one of the world’s largest digital entertainment production companies, and expert in both movies and games. Today Sparx* is the movie division of Virtuos, with production resources in Saigon, Shanghai and Chengdu development centers, and offices in Paris, Vancouver and Tokyo.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the entire level design pipeline, from early design to full delivery.
  • Implement level scenarios that allow full use of existing gameplay mechanics and allow for emergent complexity cases.
  • Implement scripted level logic, such as encounters, spawn points, checkpoints, and special events.
  • Create and maintain documentation.
  • Provide feedback on designs and scripted logic by other team members.
  • Create and update prefabs/entities that facilitate the team’s efforts.
  • Contribute to the game vision, assess mechanics and designs, and identify potential risks.
  • Assist with technical elements such as optimization.
  • Test new tools and pipelines before they are deployed team wide.
  • Help drive improvements to toolsets, and pipelines.
  • Ensure designs comply with chosen technical standards.
  • Assist with debugging and fixes.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine.
  • Passion in AAA Game production
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
