Mission (overall purpose of the job): The F&B Service Specialist is responsible for serving food and beverages in restaurant efficiently and in a most courteous manner. At the same time, he/she needs to carry out all duties in accordance with tasks and descriptions with reference to established rules and policies.

Key activities:

1.     Suggest food and beverages to be well served with the menu, method of preparation and accompaniments

2.     Serve the food and beverages in a most courteous manner

3.     Clean and polish Glassware, China ware, hollowware and flatware

4.     Maintain cleanliness and mise-en-place level at working station and service pantry for smooth operation

5.     Replenish supply of linen and other operating equipment

6.     Obtain requested items from the storeroom

7.     Keep general appearance and maintenance of the restaurant’s working areas

8.     Follow correct sequence of service outlined in the Standard Operating Manual

9.     Set up tables in accordance with Restaurant policy

10.  Clean and remove dishes from the table after service is completed

11.  Transport soiled dishes from dining room to kitchen and deposit them in proper placing at the steward area

12.  Clean all spillage during mealtime and at closing

13.  Maintain excellent grooming standard at all times

14.  Greet and seat guests, presents menus to guests, informs them special dishes of the day

15.  All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed our guests’ expectations

16.  Observes tables and keep track of clean, dirty and occupied tables

17.  Takes guest information and quotes wait to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available

18.  Answer telephone in a friendly and professional manner including, but not limited to, giving store greeting, directions to store location, and receiving and filling customer orders

19.  Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area

20.  Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant

21.  Interacts with guests in and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience

22.  Fill to go orders, if applicable

23.  Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring logbook; issuing visitor badges.

24.  Maintains telecommunication system by following manufacturer's instructions for house phone and console operation

25.  Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

26.     Be involved and contribute at team meetings

27.  Carry out instructions given by the management team.

Vocational diploma in: restaurant, hospitality management

Basic knowledge of F&B products 

Bachelor degree in: restaurant, hospitality management

Deep knowledge of F&B products, especially contemporary Italian cuisine

Relevant Experience

Minimum 6 months of working experience as F&B attendant role in restaurant

Over 2 years of working experience as F&B attendant in multi-unit restaurant groups or 5 star hotels

Skills and competencies

Communication skills: ability to have conversations in English with guests

 

Customer service: dealing with customers complains, upselling menu items
