PROGRAMME ADVISOR

Company Description:

Learning Strategies provides services to children and adults affected by emotional, behavioral, learning, and developmental difficulties. We offer services to a wide range of people from a variety of cultural backgrounds provided by a team of foreign and Vietnamesespecialists.

 

Location:

Services are provided to clients throughout Ho Chi Minh City, and travel between locations is a part of the daily routine. We work in clients’ homes, in schools, and in our centers in Phu My Hung and  AnPhu.

 

Working Hours:

40 hours/week completed between Monday and Friday. Normal working hours between 7.30am and 6.30pm depending on client schedules

 

Job Description:

The candidate will provide support to children affected by learning difficulties and developmental delays such as autism. The support is specialised and individualized to the needs of each client. Programmes are designed and managed by the senior team and delivered 1:1 by programme advisors who receive significant levels of training and professional mentoring.

Learning Strategies support is delivered 1:1 in home, school, community, and/or centre based settings, focusing on teaching functional skills; communication, play and leisure, social skills, motor skills, academics, and self-help skills. Advisors are required to work alongside families and care providers (tutors, nannies, etc.) to provide training and support to those responsible for raising a child on a day-to-day basis.

Using a blended learning model, professional development is continually delivered through online programmes, weekly workshop events, and individual professional mentoring and appraisal.

 

Responsibilities:

Core responsibilities will be:

·         Providing intensive 1:1 support to children and adolescents affected by range of learning, emotional, and behavioral difficulties as well as developmental delays such as Autism SpectrumDisorders.

·         Responding to direction and support provided by the programmemanagers.

·         Providing ongoing support to relatives, tutors, and other primary careproviders.

·         Managing daily data recording systems used to track each child’sprogress.

·         Communicating with relatives, programme managers, and other teammembers.

·         Completing progress reports relative to eachclient.

·         Attending training sessions and completing online training programmes after workinghours.

·         Contributing to the development of teaching resources and other business development activities during non-client contacthours.

Internship Training Programme:

While LS hires individuals with experience in education and/or working with children, we also ensure every candidate receives considerable and ongoing training. This ensures that Learning Strategies’ standards for provision of high quality services can be met every time across a wide range of client needs.

 

Outcomes:

By the end of the internship training programme, each candidate will be capable of:

·         Independentlydeliveringsupporttoclientsusingevidencebasedproceduresandtools;

·         Using data recording systems and internal communication systems associated with programmedelivery;

·         Responding to problem behavior and describing and explaining basic principles of behavior intervention;and

·         Describing and explaining the full range of functional skill areas typically targeted in LS interventionprogrammes.

 

Training Activities:

Using a blended learning model, the training programme is delivered by the senior team through a combination of the following:

·         Individual Professional Mentoring. Hands on training and guidance from the senior team during 1:1 instructionalsessions.

·         Workshop Training. Weekly team training programme focusing on the mastering of core intervention skills and problem solvingstrategies.

·         Online Certification. Completing of online academic programme designed to fulfill the coursework component for certification as a Registered BehaviorTechnician.

 

Training Structure:

The training programme is implemented in the following phases:

Phase 1: Screening

·         An initial 4-week programme that provides the candidate with an opportunity to sample the commitment that is expected of theteam.

·         The candidate is expected to complete daily reports, attend weekly training sessions, and engage and interact with both clients and teammembers.

·         Performance review is completed at the end of the 4-week period to evaluate candidates suitabilitytoadvancetothesecondphaseofthetrainingprogramme.

Phase 2: Internship

·         TheInternshiptraininglasts2-4monthsdependingontheprogressofthecandidate.

·         The candidate begins working directly with clients, receiving hands-on mentoring from the senior team atLS.

·         Candidate begins onlinetraining.

·         Performance review completed at the end of the internship trainingperiod.
