About GIDO

Gido is a new project incubated by SCommerce (formerly known as Giaohangnhanh) with the ambition to create a digital platform for modern forwarding and cross-border delivery.

The emergence of cross-border e-commerce raises the need for more transparent and efficient cross-border supply chain. Shipments need to be handled, processed and tracked at SKU and/or individual parcel level instead of container/ pallet, and cross-border inventory needs to be synchronized on a connected IT system to allow real time inventory allocation and supply chain shortening.

Gido platform consists of 2 main modules:

Overseas warehouse management platform;

Freight forwarder platform; 

With this platform, Gido aspires to serve the following groups of customers:

 

E-commerce marketplace who would like to support cross-border selling from other countries to Vietnam & Southeast Asia (cross-border delivery for e-commerce parcel);

Customers who want to import from other countries such as China, Korea.. and need one comprehensive software to manage their shipments from these countries to Vietnam & Southeast Asia;

We look for candidates who are inspired by data, technology, ready to get hands dirty with operations on the ground, willing to explore the unknowns and able to learn fast to join the team. No previous experience in logistics is mandatory.

1. Oversea Warehouse Expansion Intern/Executive/Specialist

Job Requirements

o   Create & update SOP for overseas warehouses;

o   Source warehouse locations and vendors in China/ Korea;

o   Recruit staff (preferably contract workers) for warehouses in China/ Korea;

o   Negotiate contracts with warehouse vendors, formulate and implement payment/ security deposit schemes, metrics based payment scheme, to mitigate counterparty risks and ensure vendors’ full compliance with Gido’s SOP;

o   Design process to control systematic risk of overseas warehouses network, develop back-up plans for unexpected situations;

o   Design solutions for warehouse operations, warehouse layout, materials handling/storage equipments,...

o   Plan and track warehouse setup budget;

o   Be on-site in China/ Korea/ the Philippines.. in 2 - 3 months to setup new warehouses, train staff/ contract workers, design and implement incentive schemes, implement Gido’s system for warehouse operations, and ensure full compliance of operations with Gido’s SOP;

o   Roll out Gido’s system (both software and hardware) at warehouses; Train warehouse staff to use system and minimise discrepancy between physical inventory and online data;

o   Setup KPI framework for warehouse on cost, lead-time, quality;

o   Measure operations metrics for warehouse: lead time, on time ratio, backlog; Using SQL/ BigQuery to automate data reporting;

o   Setup communications plan - KPI review schedule & agenda, key reports for warehouse vendors and teams;

o   Create a “warehouse blueprint” to standardize all aspects of warehouse setup & operations (process, equipment, management approach, etc.) to ensure consistent level of performance across all facilities after setup phase;

Education and Experience

o   Full fluency in English; Chinese is a plus;

o   Willing to explore the unknowns and set up new things;

o   Ready and able to learn fast; Do things that you don’t have experiences with;

o   Next-level attention to detail;

o   Have risk management mindset;

o   Willing to get hands dirty with on-the-ground operations;

o   Data-driven, familiar with Excel, SQL; 

o   Courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it;

o   Technology oriented. No paper. All digital;

o   Very structured with high level of energy;

2. Forwarding Executive Intern/Executive/Specialist

Job Requirements

o   Handle shipments from overseas warehouse’s outbound phase until successful handing-over to Vietnam warehouses;

o   Liaise with freight agents, customs brokers and 3rd party forwarding agents;

o   Source new freight agents, customs brokers, and 3rd party forwarding agents; negotiate for most competitive rates;

o   Pack parcels during overseas warehouse outbound phase to optimize freight and customs clearance (working with overseas warehouse specialist to provide step-by-step instructions for warehouse workers);

o   Plan and track freight and customs clearance budget;

o   Prepare manifest and related documents for freight / customs clearance purposes; Correct documents if necessary during the process; Train subordinates or collaborators to prepare and check these documents;

o   Handle DG shipments (including checking and preparing MSDS);

o   Prepare cost structure for freight and clearance rates for management approval;

o   Setup and follow up with communications plans for partners;

o   Implement and improve SOP for freight agents, forwarders and customs brokers;

Education and Experience

o   You have been working in a freight forwarding company for at least 2 years, with job duties covering CS/ docs/ pricing functions (Plus); Welcome freshers

o   Experienced with consol shipment, air freight, inbound customs clearance (especially manifest clearance), nominated shipment, freehand shipment, DG shipment;

o   Experienced with managing overseas freight agents (preferably having experienced with sales to overseas agents for nominated shipment), checking and negotiating freight rates;

o   Possess good knowledge in related fields (both by laws and by practice); Experienced with drafting and reviewing related documents/ contracts;

o   Full fluency in English (writing & speaking);

o   Demonstrate good teamwork & communications skills;

3. Key Account Intern/Executive

Job Requirements

o   Develop trust relationships with a portfolio of major clients and partners (agents)

o   Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives

o   Work with customers and operations team to design the correct product for them, and collaborate with internal team to identify key product which is scalable to focus on;

o   Collect feedback from customers to validate & improve product market fit;

o   Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner

o   Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external volume

o   Forecast and re-forecast volume growth and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders.

Education and Experience

o   Full fluency in English or Chinese (Mandarin)

o   Logistics/ operations/ e-commerce;

o   Detail oriented and good time management;

o   Courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it;

o   Excellent presentation and communication skills in English, Chinese;

o   Excellent persuasive and inter -personal skills;

5. Product Data Analyst Intern/Executive

Job Requirements

o   Develop, test and validate hypothesis for operations flow using actual data.

o   Create, implement and fine tune SOP, flow chart for vendors and internal team.

o   Design use cases for systems, which is input for technical team to develop respective soft-wares.

o   Measure operations metrics for warehouse: lead time, on time ratio, backlog; Using SQL/ BigQuery to automate data reporting;

Education and Experience

o   Full fluency in English; Chinese is a plus;

o   Strong analytical thinking;

o   Willing to explore the unknowns and set up new things;

o   Obsessed with data and optimisation;

o   Think clearly with funnel, probability, metrics, iteration, variable;

o   Experiment mindset: do not think too much without data; rather, you should be able to identify key assumptions, formulate quick action plans, run A/B testing, and optimise/ revise once you have more data;

o   Obsessed with automation or on-demand mentality to disrupt existing industries;

o   Ready and able to learn fast; Do things that you don’t have experiences with;

o   Next-level attention to detail;

o   Willing to get hands dirty with on-the-ground operations;

o   Data-driven, familiar with Excel, SQL;

6. Receivable Accountant Cum COD Executive

Job Requirements

o   Prepare accounting & financial report

o   Process payments (domestically and internationally)

o   Verify payment requests and other related documents by other departments

o   Assist CEO to control spending of other departments in accordance with budget and other financial guidelines

o   Support annual audit

o   Assist CEO to build budget forecast of company

o   Optimise price and cost structure of the company

o   Control cost and lead other departments to carry on cost saving initiatives

o   COD payment and collection, including remittance to foreign sellers (using Payoneer)

o   Payment to partners in other countries (Korea, China, Hongkong)

o   Bank guarantee for partners in other countries.

Education and Experience

o   At least 6 months for accounting experiences;

o   Detail oriented and good time management;

o   Strong analytical and logical thinking;

o   Frugal and aggressive in cost saving;

o   Courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it;

7. Assistant to CEO – KPI Project

Job Requirements

Calculate KPI & KPI payment

o   Calculate KPI & KPI payment in accordance with policies; 

o   Collect information/ reference data to cross-check KPI/ key results; 

o   Interpret compensation policies logically and in accordance with laws, regulations, and general compensation principles of Gido;

Document KPI scheme and compensation policies

o   Write up KPI formulas and policies in accordance with instructions given or approved by CEO;

o   Write up thought process behind such compensation policies & discretions;

Monthly meeting with SCommerce HR team

o   Update SCom HR team on Gido’s compensation policies & discretions to maintain high level of transparency; and collect feedback, advice, benchmark data for further improvement;

Measure effectiveness of compensation  policies

o   Measure the effectiveness of compensation policies, which is defined as the impact of compensation schemes on performance (e.g. top line revenue, cost savings, operations metrics, bottom line EBITDA,..) of employees, team or organization;

Communication

o   Handle employees’ inquiries about compensation matters;

o   Organize workshops, meetings,.. to educate employees on compensation policies (including incentive and penalty schemes), compensation principles, KPI measurement methods;

Education and Experience

o   General knowledge of HR is prefered;

o   Data skills;

o   Strong analytical and logical thinking;

o   Systematic and “rule-based” thinking;

o   Ability to make decisions rationally and dispassionately; willingness to make ‘right decisions’ instead of ‘comfortable decisions;

o   An ideal candidate should be a “fact & figure”, no-nonsense, ‘truth seeking’, calm person;

o   Ability to collect facts & evidences, question & investigate whenever necessary;

o   Ability to write up comprehensive and cohesive policies and formulas;

o   Strong persuasive skills;

o   Strong Excel skills; SQL is plus;
